  • Chemical Stability: It should maintain good performance over time since it is constantly exposed to sulfuric acid solution.

  • Mechanical Strength: The case must be strong enough to withstand vibrations, impacts, overloads, as well as shocks during ground storage, transportation, and under varying temperature conditions.

  • Wide Temperature Range and Long Service Life: The material should perform well across a wide temperature range and ensure a long service life.

  • Good Electrical Insulation: To prevent leakage, the case must have excellent electrical insulation properties.

  • Heat Sealing Capability: It should be easy to heat seal and possess high heat-sealing strength.

  • Good Airtightness and Liquid Impermeability: The material must prevent both gas and liquid leakage.

  • No Harmful Substances: The material should be free from substances that could adversely affect the battery’s performance.

  • Abundant Material Source: The material should be readily available, easy to mold and process, suitable for mechanized production, and cost-effective.
